SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of New Castle, PA, will hold a special meeting on Monday, June 29, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, City Building, 230 N. Jefferson Street, New Castle, PA, to act on the following:
1. Resolution R-2026-087 Authorization to hire Mario Bernardi as a full-time police officer conditioned upon Mario Bernardi executing an agreement to reimburse the City for the Act 120 training if employee’s employment with the City is terminated by either party within five (5) years of the date of said agreement.
2. Resolution R-2026-088 Authorization to hire Daylyn Glenel as a full-time police officer conditioned upon Daylyn Glenel executing an agreement to reimburse the City for the Act 120 training if employee’s employment with the City is terminated by either party within five (5) years of the date of said agreement.
3. Resolution R-2026-089 Authorization to hire Tanner Kennedy as a full-time police officer conditioned upon Tanner Kennedy executing an agreement to reimburse the City for the Act 120 training if employee’s employment with the City is terminated by either party within five (5) years of the date of said agreement.
4. Resolution R-2026-090 Authorization to hire David Occhibone as a full-time police officer conditioned upon David Occhibone executing an agreement to reimburse the City for the Act 120 training if employee’s employment with the City is terminated by either party within five (5) years of the date of said agreement.
An Executive Session will be held to discuss the following:
1. Conditional Use Request of John Evan - Howland Company to construct a gas service station as part of an existing convenience store. This includes a 15,000 gallon underground storage tank, two pumps, and a 20x56 fuel canopy. The property is owned by Adam Khaled Lababdah is located at 835 Moravia Street in the C-1 General Business District of the Eighth Ward.
2. Resolution R-2026-081 Approving the request of Edmund and Kimberly Smart to place a manufactured home at 0 Glendale Avenue. (Tabled at the 06/18/2026 Council Meeting.)
