ANNUAL BLAST
NOTIFICATION
Heidelberg Materials Northeast LLC, 2200 Springfield Pike, Connellsville, PA 15425, proposes to conduct surface blasting in compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws. The blasting will occur on the Midland Large Non-Coal Surface Mine, SMP #3174SM14, in North Beaver Township, Lawrence County, located approximately 1.0 mile northeast of Bessemer, west of the intersection of Hoffmaster Road (T-453) and Smalls Ferry Road (T-312), on the McCord Farm Trust LLC and Heidelberg Materials Northeast LLC properties.
BLASTING SCHEDULE
Blasting will occur between the hours of 8:00 am and 12:00 pm, 12:30 pm and 4:30 pm, and 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm or dusk, weather permitting, every day except Sundays. This is the annual republication of the blast schedule.
Ten minutes prior to each scheduled blast, all access to the specific area will be controlled and safeguarded from unauthorized entry.
Two (2) minutes prior to blasting, an air horn warning signal, audible to one half mile from the blast site will be given. This pre-blast warning shall consist of three- (3) signals of five- (5) seconds duration, with five (5) seconds between each signal. One (1) signal of ten- (10) seconds duration shall be the "All Clear" indication.
The following conditions may require unscheduled blasting: adverse atmospheric conditions, public or operator safety, equipment failure, illness and/or injury of the blaster, and blocked drill holes or water filled holes.
